About Us

Some materials have been with us for a long time. Leaves left to dry, spices kept whole, a beautiful vanilla pod, a cacao bean… Simple products that we love first and foremost for what they are.

Kintavolana was born from this idea: to bring together raw, whole natural materials, carefully chosen for their origin, their character and their quality.

A family story

If some materials hold a special place at Kintavolana today, it is not entirely by chance.

In Madagascar, our grandparents already grew vanilla and cacao. Later, trade became a family story in France too, with Rokeda, a first family shop opened in Saint-Pol-sur-Mer in 1993 and run for twenty years.

The years went by, places and projects changed, but leaves, spices, vanilla and cacao stayed somewhere in our story.

Today, this story continues from mother to daughters. Paulette and Dania founded Kintavolana together, and part of the family in Madagascar remains directly connected to several of our materials.

Materials, above all

Leaves, spices, cacao, vanilla: our selection may seem very different from one product to another. Yet we choose them with the same eye.

We love materials that have a presence. A leaf that is still whole, a spice with its shape and scent, a supple, fragrant vanilla pod. Things that nature has already shaped, and to which there is little need to add anything.

That is also why our selection remains deliberately personal. Not everything is meant to become part of Kintavolana.

A story that continues

Kintavolana is a new house, but it does not start from nothing.

It brings together what we have known for a long time, what we are still discovering, and what we now want to share in turn.

Raw materials, shaped by the earth.
